This book covers the changing world views throughout human history, world views that at any given time were taken as reality.
This is a great book because, from an interesting point of view, it disassembles the rigidity of three-dimensional reality pointing to an entirely different Reality--though, from Harrison's frame of reference and discussion, that deeper Reality--"the unmasked Universe"--remains unknown.
A fantastic way to break out of conventional thinking, the indoctrination of our present-day society--yet another mask
"No person can live as a human being, particularly as a member of a society, unless equipped with grand ideas concerning the world around. These grand ideas--or cosmic formulations--establish the universe in which that person lives. The universes that we create and in which we live determine the meaning and purpose of life . . . .
The universes, without which human beings could not live as intelligent beings, are the masks of the Universe. The unmasked Universe itself, however, remains forever unknown." (Masks of the Universe, pg vii)
