I've written about Barbara Sher before. She really is one of a kind. She has the uncanny ability to actually see the world, people and events as they are and extract workable solutions to all sorts of everyday challenges. She's an original thinker and I really appreciate that.
This book, I Could Do Anything if I Only Knew What it Was, is exactly about that--about when you have no idea what you want to do, and how you can find out and get doing it.
Basically she says when one does not know what one wants to do it's because there is an inner conflict going on. So, you discover the conflict, discover what you really do want to do, and get going on doing it.
She leads you through various exercises and questions and leads you to discover what it is that you really want to do.
So, what I've been wanting is to find a place or someone who cooks healthy food that I can buy to last me a few days. It is super hard to cook with so much that I have to do and I love eating healthfully.
Did some research and found a place in Fairfax, Blooming Spoon.
I have yet to try it -- and will report afterwards -- but it sure looks promising. Their menu is exactly what I was looking for.
I just discovered this great website that has free yoga classes: www.doyogawithme.com
The great thing is you can use them online or you can download the class or buy the DVD. Not all the classes are available in all the formats.
What I found interesting is that, at least the routines that I have done, are absolutely excellent, as is the instruction; much better than many of the DVDs available for sale. The difference is it's not perfectly produced with perfectly-shaped people. But I actually really like that aspect of it; I like the genuineness.
When we set into motion an intention for change or manifestation, it takes time for the manifestation to appear. That's provided the intention was clear and did not go against the very grain of our being, our soul purpose.
If the intention was clear, the manifestation process is set into motion.
Time passes. It may seem nothing is happening.
Then suddenly you find yourself doing things that are actions to bring about your manifestation.
This is the deceptive part. As you're waiting for things to happen, your manifestation intention is so organic it starts to work without you recognizing that that's what's happening.
It's an interesting situation. You're looking on the outside for its appearance; meanwhile it's happening organically from the inside.
The challenge here is to pay attention, to stay aware when you start to take action, when ideas appear and you start to act on them. Understand them to be your manifestation starting to find its way into physical reality. Knowing that it's happening will help it appear. Notice how you feel and change inside accordingly; this also helps with the appearance of your manifestation.
It's a subtle process. However, once you know what it feels like, there is a wonderful sense of alignment within your own being and All That Is where your divine truth flows out of the very center of the Universe and you feel a part of the Universe and the whole Universe at the same time. It's quite wonderful.
When things aren't working anymore in your life and you don't know what to do, ask yourself: what does my heart want? That's the direction to go in.
Don't think with your brain. The mind will offer practical answers and only that which it deems possible or already knows about. So it does not help so much at this juncture. Instead ask your heart. What do I want more than anything else? You may want qualities such as love or peace. Or material things.
There is always the next opening, the next unfoldment for our life. And the easiest way to find that opening is to ask yourself what your heart wants.
