My Experience with Writing
​& the Writing Process

My Ph.D. is in English. I've taught writing and literature classes at various universities in the U.S. as well as adult education classes on writing books -- fiction and non-fiction. I've also worked as a writing consultant. What's clear is that many people are passionate about writing but have a hard time doing so. There are many reasons for this.

The writing process is a path of transformation, growth and evolution. If you feel drawn to express yourself in writing, I encourage you to listen to that calling. It's a powerful path filled with unprecedented adventures and unprecedented rewards.

It could be you've hit the limit of your expansion -- as determined by your childhood imperatives -- and have to heal some of those energies before you can continue writing.

It's also possible there are basic logistics involved: You simply lack the tools or the knowledge to move forward; or you're too busy with work and family to realistically have time for writing; or you've not identified your own best writing practices.

If the problems are deeper, with the use of clairvoyance, I can locate the issues. Many times, right there and then we can move through those obstacles. At other times, some effort, over a period of time, will bring about the needed changes.​

Writing my dissertation was my first experience with writing a book. I will never forget periodically getting calls from my committee chairman wanting to know why he has not received any writing from me. I would tell him why; he would tell me what to do; and I'd be writing again.

I had no idea I was stuck for the simple reason I did not know how to do something. It took one minute for my chairman--who had decades of experience guiding students through completing their dissertations--to tell me what I needed to do so I could keep writing. Easy and simple.

Planning to Self-Publish?

Self-publishing has become very popular in recent years and the field continues to change.

At this time, you can write your book, pay to have a printer print it and then sell it or you can use a variety of print-on demand companies that sell your book world-wide.

Some print-on-demand companies ask for money up front, others do not, instead when they sell your book, they take a cut and give you a cut.

Two such companies are KDP (an Amazon Company) and Ingram.
