I used to think folks who sought out writing software before they could write were engaged in one of the many evasion techniques, and I think this may be true in some cases, the anxiety about writing being so high. But I've been struggling with finding an easy way to handle the numerous aspects of writing a science fiction novel, and finally, once again, started looking for software that would fulfill all of my needs.
Story-boarding was hugely important to me. Being able to see all aspects of the novel development at once . . . access character, setting, chapters . . . instantly and move between them easily. And of course output the separate chapters into one document. These are a few important features I needed.
Finally discovered WriteItNow by Ravenshead Services. I can't believe how perfect it is, at least for my needs and how I work. It provides the ideal writing environment for fiction and in my opinion also for non-fiction. I highly recommend it.
