My battery ran out in my analogue alarm clock and I did not want to buy a new battery. I wanted an analogue alarm clock that ran on solar cells.
Solar has been everywhere in my life lately but especially driving every day by our local high school whose parking lot was now being covered with solar panels. Ingenious. It provides shade for the cars and power for the school!
So I looked for solar-powered alarm clocks and guess what, there are very few and almost all digital, none that were available for sale that were analogue. I could not buy one!
Then, bizarrely enough, the rechargeable batteries on my digital recorder ran out and, you guessed it, now I wanted a solar-powered digital recorder. I didn't even bother to see if those existed, I doubt it.
It became clear that tons of electronics can run on solar cells (and I know many already do, just not general items), and that this would make a great and, I believe, much-needed business.
Can someone start this business please?
And let me know when you're selling solar-powered electronics--especially a solar-powered analogue alarm clock--and I will buy and also spread the word.
