All of us need to make decisions all the time, big decisions and little decisions.
There is one easy way to make decisions.
When you don't know what to do, just ask a question: How do I do this? What's the best way? and so on. Then listen for an answer that comes from within.
This is the trick, the answer comes so quickly, we generally don't even notice. But, you can train yourself to notice.
In other words much of the time answers are already there, but since we're anxious and focused on the fact that we don't know the answer that second, we miss when the answer does appear.
Try it next time you're puzzled and don't know what to do.
My experience has been that the minute I begin to ask the question--before I'm even finished--the answer forms in my mind.
When does this approach not work? When there are big questions. When many more experiences need to be had before there is an answer to your specific question. Simply the time is not right for you to know; you might need many more experiences before you can know.
However, with most situations, this is a wonderful approach. I particularly love it because this way I am in constant communication with my inner self, a self that knows more than my human personality, has a larger view, has more wisdom. This is hugely comforting.
